I can be a forgetful cook. I wander into other rooms, get distracted by the TV/internet and often overcook food. I've had many other timers but all have failed me after a short while. This timer is great. The very strong magnets on the back make it possible to keep it on your refrigerator even while punching in the time. I find the sound it makes very loud, though if I wander outside, I put it in my pocket. It's about the same volume (at max) as an annoyingly loud bedside alarm clock. If it stops working, I'll probably buy another.

I use a timer when I want to take a nap. I have some hearing impairment and my ordinary timers weren't always loud enough to wake me up. This one is definitely loud enough for me. I first tried a cheaper one that was supposed to be for the hearing impaired but it turned out to have a flashing light and vibrator which are fine if you're awake, but not if you're asleep; and the sound was not loud at all. This one also seems to be very well made and durable, and it's easy to use.

I have a dozen kitchen timers. All but one, I can not hear when I am away from the timer. The one that is loud enough is made by Good Cook but I cound not find one like it. When I read the review on this timer, I decided to give it a try. The reviewer was right. This one is loud enought to hear from another room. It also lets me program in the time. I don't have to scroll throught the hours like others require. Recently I wanted to be reminded about a TV program that came on in 6 hours. Just type in 60000 and you are there. 6 hours, 00 min and 00 seconds. This is the best timer I ever bought and when I need more, this will be it. |
